A small team of travellers who fell hard for the mountains — and never wanted to stop sharing them.

That sentence has been our compass for everything Broz Stays does. Every property in our collection is chosen the same way: we visit, we stay, we eat with the hosts, and only then do we list it.
How Broz Stays came to be
It started as a road trip. A few friends, a beaten-up SUV, no plan beyond the next bend in the Himalayan foothills. Somewhere between a tea estate guesthouse in Mirik and a Lepcha family's wooden home in Aritar, we realised something: the best places in these hills don't have websites. They live by word of mouth, and most travellers never find them.
So we started keeping a list. The list became a notebook. The notebook became a spreadsheet. And eventually, in 2024, the spreadsheet became Broz Stays — a curated collection of the off-beat homestays, cottages, and villas we'd fallen in love with across North Bengal and Sikkim.
We're not a booking platform. We're a small team that vouches personally for every property on our list. If we wouldn't send our own family there, it doesn't make the cut.

North Bengal and Sikkim are easier to reach than you think. Here's how.
By air, rail, or road
By Air
Bagdogra Airport (IXB) is the nearest major airport — 95 km from Darjeeling, 125 km from Gangtok. Direct flights from Delhi, Kolkata, Bangalore, Mumbai, Chennai.
Pakyong Airport (PYG) near Gangtok is a smaller option (limited flights).
By Rail
New Jalpaiguri (NJP) is the main railway station. Major express trains from Kolkata, Delhi, Guwahati, Mumbai.
Toy Train (Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, UNESCO heritage) runs the scenic NJP → Darjeeling route.
By Road
From Bagdogra/NJP, shared jeeps and private cars run to all major destinations. Hill roads are well-maintained but slow — plan 3-6 hours depending on destination.
